Sunset Puts Boise's Hotel 43 among the "West's Best Boutique Lodgings" BOISE, Idaho (2 November 2007) — Hotel 43, a premier destination boutique hotel in downtown Boise, is one of the top ten city hotels in the West according to Sunset Magazine. Dubbed as "ten city hotels too good to keep secret" on the cover of the November issue, Hotel 43 made the exclusive list with hotels in San Francisco, Honolulu, Seattle, and Denver.
"It's fabulous to get this recognition in our first six months," said Lisa Benjamin, Hotel 43's general manager. "We've worked hard to deliver an experience on par with the top big city boutique hotels. To have Sunset recognize us so quickly is a sign of great things to come."
Sunset travel editor Rachel Levin described Hotel 43 as having a "mahogany mod-elegance that's new for Boise." The hotel opened its doors in May after a six-month, multi-million dollar renovation. Its redesigned interior includes a stunning lobby with a 60-foot ceiling, remodeled meeting facilities, and numerous upgrades and stylish furnishings in its guest rooms and suites.
Part of Hotel 43's distinctive experience is giving guests a taste of Boise's character. The guest rooms feature photographs of Boise's urban landscape, and the lobby features original artwork by Idaho artists. The hotel offers guests upscale food and beverages with a local flavor as well. Each guest receives a huckleberry chocolate hand-made exclusively for Hotel 43 by a local chocolate confectionary. Guests can also try the Hotel 43 martini and signature Idaho dishes in Chandler's, a premier steak and seafood restaurant inside Hotel 43.
The Sunset article noted Hotel 43's luxury amenities, including 12-foot ceilings on the top floor, flat-screen TVs, and a pillow-topped bed "so comfy, you'll want to hit the hay long before the live jazz ends in the lobby-level lounge." The hotel's top-floor suites boast stunning views of Idaho's capitol building, the Boise foothills, and city skyline. Each suite also has a large jetted soaking tub, granite-countertop wet bar, and in-room refrigerator.
Hotel 43 was the only hotel in Idaho to win a place on Sunset's coveted list. The top ten city hotels list ran in the November issue of Sunset's western edition with distribution in California.
